notes: the basics
when you start the game you have to do jump ball, which is a set up where the tallest person or the one that can jump the highest is in the middle of the court against the person on the other team that is the tallest or can jump the highest. The rest of the players are on man to man defense on each corner of the middle circle on the court. When the ball goes up the tallest people jump and try to get the ball and tip it towards their teammates which ever team gets it goes to there side of the court and tries to score the defense has to hustle back to get on defense. Quarters last for 6 to 8 mins depending on what level you play on but in college they split the game into 2 half 20 mins each. There are time outs in the quarters and it doesn't take time away from the time on the scoreboard each team gets like 3 time outs and neither does taking the ball out, or foul shots. when you are shooting a foul shot or in the game when a foul shot is taken you stand in between the lines color so it would be white black white on each side or black white black depending on which team is shooting. play defense which is not touching the player just trying to get the ball from going to another player on the other team you could play man to man or zone which man to man is when your always on a specific player or zone is when your just playing defense in a area. Offense is when you have the ball trying to score..
